研究方向

1. 神经退行性疾病的病理发生机理

主要关注阿尔茨海默病,额颞叶痴呆等相关神经退行性疾病。以这一类疾病中的共性沉积蛋白为切入点,研究该类病理蛋白在神经细胞内变性沉积以及跨脑区传播的分子机理。

 

2. 开发新型的神经退行性疾病动物模型

结合病人脑组织样本,在多种属动物上建立新型动物模型,在动物的中枢神经系统中模拟病人脑中发生的神经病理病变,为研究阿尔茨海默病等神经退行性疾病提供研究平台。

 

3. 发展神经退行性疾病的早期诊断方法及干预

基于已有的工作,通过体内、外病理扩增制备具有类似病人脑内的病原性抗原,筛选特异识别病理构象的抗体或者小分子化合物探针,开发基于脑脊液和血液的检测手段,探索研发相关神经退行性疾病的早期诊断方法和干预手段。

 

Research area:

1. The pathogenesis mechanisms underlying the neurodegenerative diseases.

We study Alzheimer’s disease, Frontotemporal dementia and related diseases, from the perspective of pathological protein, we are trying to understand how the protein pathogenesis initiate and spread within the disease brain from the molecular levels, and how such pathological protein contribute to the disease progression. 

2. Establish new neurodegenerative disease animal models.

Combined with the human disease brain-derived materials, we are generating novel animal models to recapitulate the patient-like pathogenesis process in the animal models, aiming to provide better research platform for studying those devastating neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease and Frontotemporal dementia. 

3. Develop methodologies for early diagnosis and intervention of neurodegenerative diseases.

Based on our own work, we are currently focusing on developing early diagnosis methods for tauopathy diseases, including Alzheimer’s diseases and Frontotemporal dementia. We are generating conformation-specific antibody and small molecular probes for the diagnosis and intervention of distinct tauopathies.
